BY AJ KURZMAN

Week 12 was a little bit lighter on scoring than usual. Is there anything better than waking up Thanksgiving morning, smelling the delicious cooking, and turning on the TV to watch some football? The answer is no. In some other NFL news, Collin Kaepernick looks like he may have won the San Francisco 49ers starting QB job, the Chargers choked in crunch time against the Ravens, and the Jets still stink. Here’s the best and the worst of week 12.

Best:

  • WR: Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys: Bryant had 8 catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns during the Cowboys losing effort against RGIII and the Redskins on Thanksgiving. Bryant has been a big part of this Cowboy’s offense as of lately, scoring 4 touchdowns in his last 3 games.
  • RB: Arian Foster, Houston Texans: Foster has been as consistent as they come this year, with virtually no bad games. That trend continued against the Lions on Thanksgiving day as Foster had 20 carries for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns in a win against Detroit.

Worst:

  • WR: Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh Steelers: Wallace had a backup quarterback throwing to him on Sunday vs. Cleveland.  He managed to reel in a measly 1 catch for 9 yards.  That’s terrible, especially for Wallace who is used to being a big part of the Pittsburgh offense. I’m sure the Steelers eight turnovers on offense didn’t help his cause.
  • RB: Marshawn Lynch, Seatle Seahawks: Lynch has been nearly matchup proof throughout the season. He even managed to put up over 100 yards in San Francisco this year, but Lynch only had 46 yards on 19 carries on Sunday vs. Miami.

I’ll end this with a statement on college football. Although Notre Dame finished the season undefeated with a virtual lock in the National Championship, I predict the SEC Champion will spank them by at least 21 points when the game comes around in Miami on January 7th.
