On Thursday, October 18th, the Cooper City Cowboys took on the South Broward Bulldogs in their annual homecoming game.

The first quarter started off tight, with both teams defenses not budging. The Cowboy’s defense put up a fight to stop the Bulldogs, however, a penalty was called on the Cowboys resulting in a Bobcat field goal. The quarter ended at 3-0, with the Bulldogs in the lead.

The second quarter was the turning point in the game for the Cowboys. Following a field goal by kicker Jeremy Moss, quarterback Sean Pratt connected with running back Jarrett Morgan for a touchdown. The Bulldogs worked hard to redeem themselves but it wasn’t enough. Going into half time, the score was 10-3, with the Cowboys in the lead.

In the third quarter, wide receiver Lucas Volpe scored on a 20-yard touchdown, improving the Cowboy’s lead.  Full back Jesse Colon also added to the score after running in another touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, the Cowboys intercepted the Bulldogs and ran it back 30 yards. When the Cowboy offense came on the field, running back Lemond Johnson took advantage of the field placement and ran in a 20-yard touchdown.

The final score of the game was 31-3, a Cowboy win. Come out to Cooper City High’s athletic field on Thursday, November 1st, to watch the Cowboys take on the McArthur Mustangs at 7 P.M.
