One week after securing their spot as district champs for the first time in school history by defeating Coral Glades 34-12, the Cooper City Cowboys entered Friday’s game against the Flanagan Falcons with a 7-2 record, and a playoff berth.

Things started off in favor of Flanagan who scored on the first play of the game, off of a 57 yard pass from senior quarterback Robert Bender. The Falcons scored on their first three possessions and ended the first quarter with a 20-0 lead.

The Cowboys responded, though, scoring 15 unanswered points. Led by junior running back Camden Krohn, who recorded his 1,000th rushing yard of the season, on a one yard touchdown run the Cowboys seemed to be putting a valiant comeback effort together before the eyes of their homecoming crowd.

Unfortunately things didn’t continue to roll the Cowboys way. Flanagan’s quarterback Bender had a stellar night at the Cowboys expense, connecting on 12 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns. When it was all said and done, the Cowboys fell 47-15.

On Friday, November 19th, hoping to bounce back from their recent loss, the Cowboys will host South Broward to begin the 2010 post season.
