The Cooper City Cowboys Boys Soccer Team faced off against the Nova Titans On November 5th. It was not only their first game of the season but it was also the Cowboy’s first district game.

In the First Half, the Cowboys started off with a bang with Senior Captain Randy Miliken almost scoring off of a great cross. Shorty afterward, Miliken was fouled and awarded a free kick.  He forced the goalie to just bat it down, allowing junior Paul Viteri to kick the ball straight in to the net, scoring the first goal of the Cowboy’s season. The defensive performance by the Cowboys was immaculate as well, with junior defender David Deacon not letting any attackers by him without applying intense pressure.  Junior goalie Brandon Fiske also did well throughout the whole game, but his one slip up came in the first half when #10 from the Titans got away on a breakaway and scored the Titans first goal, tying the game at 1-1.

In second half, the Cowboys defense continued to press and stop the Titans attackers from making any gains. With the Cowboys momentum on the rise, junior Josh Lovins received a pass and shot the ball for a goal at the far post, putting the Cowboys up 2-1.

The Titans allowed the Cowboys to pick up their first win of the season as well as their first district win of the season with a final score of 2-1.
