A new week means a fresh start, which is what at least the Cowboys were hoping for in yet another tough 2 games. For the fifth straight game the Cowboys played away, and this time against the Nova High Titans. On Wednesday March 29, the Cowboys looked to finish a postponed game from earlier in the season.

Nova High is a difficult opponent and showed it as they played well on all cylinders against the Cowboys. Nova had came out with a strong start with the first 2 innings scoring 3 runs total, one in the first and the others in the second. But the Cowboys retaliated in the next inning getting a run themselves and making it a tight game of 3-1 heading to the 4th inning.

The 4th inning was scoreless but still intriguing to watch, as the crowd was focused in on who is going to take over the game. In the 5th the Cowboys and Nova High were able to get a run a piece and make the score 4-2. In the 6th inning Nova High closed the door on the Cowboys scoring 4 runs and having their best inning of the day.  The Cowboys never gave up and fought till the end but ended up losing 8-2 on their first of the back to backs against their district opponent.

For the second game of the back to back, the Cowboys came back home looking to turn things around and get a win before the week ends. The game was a non district game against the Northeast High Hurricanes, on Thursday March 30.

The Cowboys didn’t get the strong start they were looking for, as Northeast High came out with a shocking 3 runs in the first inning. Being at home, the Cowboys didn’t want to disappoint their fans, so they didn’t give up without a fight and the next few innings they were sharp and precise, as they didn’t allow another run to Northeast High. In the 3rd inning the Cowboys finally broke through gaining their first run of the day. The next inning the Cowboys capitalized on this momentum scoring two more runs to tie the game up.

The Cowboys had something building heading into the 5th inning, and the crowd ecstatic as they rally towards a win. Gaining 3 more runs in this inning the Cowboys looked poised for the victory with just 2 innings remaining in the game. The Cowboys were successful in not allowing any runs to Northeast High in the final innings, and were able to pull away with a 6-3 victory. This made the Cowboys overall record if 5-6 and hoping to build off of this well deserved win for future games.
