It has been well established that the 2020-2021 school year is unlike any other. The perils of the pandemic have seemed to eradicate not only regular school schedules, but additional events like homecoming and extracurriculars as well.

At the core of the losses is inevitably the senior class of 2021, whose senior activities have remained either uncertain in the air or canceled completely. While Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie has assured that in-person graduation ceremonies will take place, this is virtually the sole example of any normalcy for this year’s seniors. 

Prom is yet another activity that is uncertain to take place this year and its usual date in May is coming up relatively soon. With no plans at the moment, CCHS seniors are thinking of ideas for themselves about what could possibly be done—if anything, at that—to celebrate their last high school moments in a safe way. Here are their thoughts on whether or not prom should occur this year:
